So, does it look like spring yet in your neck of the woods? It's been raining here in Calgary for quite some time now, and I say we're well past due for some sunny and warm weather! Oh well, the grass is green and flowers have bloomed so I guess I can't complain too much ;)
Kent and I had a fun weekend. I celebrated my 26th birthday on Saturday (thanks for the facebook wishes everyone!) and Kent treated me to a fancy dinner and a beautiful necklace :) We also went to the Telus World of Science centre with our little buddy whom we're volunteering with for Big Brothers & Big Sisters. We decided to volunteer with the organization because we love kids and want to give back to our community and mentor to those in need. This little dude is a big cutie and is 7 years old. I took a bunch of pics of our day, but I'm not able to post them due to privacy and confidentiality issues.
In other news, I'm now officially on strike with the CBE. We (the professional support staff) are stiking in support of the general support staff, so they can get a better contract. This means I will be out of work on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, and most likely another few days/weeks before the end of the school year. I hope an agreement will be reached before September. Keep your fingers crossed :)
On a more positive note, Kent and I are coming home to Nova Scotia for a two week visit June 28-July 13. We were originally going to be taking Caper with us, but he gained 10 lbs since getting neutered two months ago and now weighs 85 lbs! He's 10 lbs over the weight limit for flying in the checked baggage area. So he will be staying in a kennel... We'd love to see people when we're home, so hopefully some old friends will be around during that time.
Take care folks, and have a great week. Happy Birthday MOM and Happy (early) Father's Day to all the DADS out there!!
